Astrodyne RoHS Statement

Astrodyne RoHS Position Statement 

                       The RoHS – Restriction of the use of certain hazardous substances in electrical and electronic equipment – directive came into force in Europe on July 1st 2006. The directive specifies the maximum concentrations of lead and five other hazardous substances that can be present in products that include electronic sub-assemblies and systems.

                         The categories of product to which the RoHS directive applies are:

  • Large Household Appliances
  • Small Household Appliances
  • IT and telecommunications equipment
  • Consumer equipment
  • Lighting equipment
  • Electronic and electronic tools
  • Toys, leisure and sports equipment
  • Automatic dispensers
  • Electric light bulbs and household luminaires

                        There are two exemptions: large scale stationary industrial tools and spare parts for the repair and re-use of appliances brought to the market prior to July 1st 2006. Also medical devices, control and monitoring equipment are not required to comply with the existing directive but will be required to be compliant at a later date which has still to be advised.

                         The substances to which the RoHS directive applies are:

  • Lead
  • Mercury
  • Cadmium
  • Hexavalent chromium
  • Polybrominated biphenyls
  • Polybrominates diphenyl ethers

                         Astrodyne is committed to supporting our customer’s requirements for RoHS compliant products and has succeeded in implementing Directive 2002/95/EC in its design and manufacturing processes. Our RoHS compliant products are marked with a green RoHS labels either on the product or on the external packaging. Astrodyne only sources components and finished goods from suppliers who have declared their parts to be RoHS compliant.
