TAUNTON, Mass., November 11, 2006 —Astrodyne Corporation, the leader in standard and modified standard power solutions, announces two new series of ultra-miniature, open-frame modular switching power supplies. In a small mechanical footprint measuring only 2"W X 4"L X 1.2"H, both the ASL40 and ASL60 series provide power densities >6W/in3, offering the most economical 40W/60W power solutions available. Designed to meet the space and performance parameters needed in instrumentation, control and telecommunication systems, the compact ASL40/ASL60 series accept universal inputs ranging from 85-265VAC. Both the ASL40 and the ASL60 series are available in eleven models which provide single and dual outputs of 5VDC to 48VDC.
The ASL40/ASL60 series feature an integral power-good LED indicator and output adjustment potentiometer, and operate over an ambient temperature range of 0 to 50ºC without forced cooling or output power derating. All models contain overvoltage and short circuit protection circuitry and internal input filtering. All models also feature Molex-style I/O connectors. The ASL40/ASL60 series are fully approved to UL60950-1 / EN60950-1 safety specifications. Medically approved non-commercial versions are also available. Prices start at $18 in OEM quantities and delivery is stock to 6 weeks ARO.
